The best place to stay in Puyallup Tacoma

Looking for something fun to do with your kids this winter? Then come to Puyallup! Our community prides itself on being a great place for families and we have some great events coming up!

If you have kids, you know what Minecraft is. Chances are you can’t get away from it. That’s not such a bad thing, though – as far as crazes for kids are concerned, Minecraft is actually pretty educational! Set in a blocky world where resources are mined, harvested, and transformed into whatever your child can imagine, Minecraft teaches your kids how to manage resources and collaborate to make their dreams come true!

On December 28, kids aged 8-12 can participate in a Minecraft building competition! Competitors are given a theme for building at the beginning of the competition, and then they set about making the most impressive building, structure, or farm based on that theme! Kids can use their own devices or ones supplied by the library, meaning this is completely inclusive!

Sometimes, kids just have to work as a team to stop a supernatural threat to their town! On December 29, the Puyallup library will host an escape room based on the hit Netflix show! Can the team stop the Demogorgon from terrorizing Hawkins, Indiana? Only if they outwit the fiendish puzzles in this escape room!

Even before Harry Potter became a household name, kids have always loved magic. There’s something about magic tricks that makes the impossible seem possible, transforming the world into a place of wonder! From now until January 20, the Washington State History Museum is running a show titled “From Sleight of Hand to Spiritualism: What is Magic?” that explores the history of magic shows in this great land of ours! Full of the weird, the wild and the wonderful, this is a great way to experience history!

Travelling as a family to the Puyallup/Tacoma area? Book a room at the Best Western Premier Plaza Hotel & Conference Center. You’ll love how the complimentary hot breakfast saves your travel budget, your kids will love the heated indoor pool! Book your room today.

Come to Puyallup this December for a great Christmas!

If you’re in Puyallup on December 1, then you should definitely head downtown to Pavillion Park for the Holiday Market, so you can get all your Christmas shopping done early! But stick around, because at 5 PM you can catch the Lighted Santa Parade! This is a great tradition for bringing in the Christmas season – first of all, Santa leads a procession of bright floats through downtown Puyallup, and then everyone meets at the park for the ceremonial lighting of the town Christmas tree! It’s a warm, wonderful experience, and a great excuse for getting out into the fresh air and enjoying some cookies and hot cocoa!

Starting December 1, Washington State Fair will transform into a portal to the North Pole! Featuring over 15,000 square feet of holiday themed fun, this is THE reason to come visit Puyallup this December. Attractions include:

  • Santa’s Office: A glimpse into how Santa determines who’s naughty and nice! Filled with all sorts of great touches like an overstuffed, regal office chair and “official” North Pole stationary (that you can write a letter to Santa on!), this is the only office kids get excited over!
  • Santa’s Library: Filled with over 450 classic Christmas storybooks, this is a great place to have a nice, quiet moment with your kids.
  • Mrs. Claus Candy Store and Kitchen: Delectable candy and baked goods, giving you a sweet treat, and a hot cup of cocoa, to really enjoy your day!
  • Santa’s Workshop: A functioning workshop where you can make gifts for your loved ones!
  • Santa’s Media Den:  Pull up a big, comfy seat and enjoy one (or many) of the Christmas classics that will be playing all day!

There’s so much to do, and your kids will love it! Don’t miss out!

When visiting Puyallup, make sure you have a great visit by booking a room at the Best Western Premier Plaza Hotel & Conference Center. Your kids will love our indoor heated pool, where they can swim all year round!
