Most of us can enjoy a nice slab of quality cheese. When the timings right, the wine is out, or you simply just want a respectable sandwich, cheese is where it’s at. Good thing for Puyallup, the people down at My Cheese Shoppe understand this!

My Cheese Shoppe is a specialty cheese Shoppe opened by Laurie Sanders-Polen, a woman who didn’t think she would have a career in selling cheese. She started out as a receptionist at Peterson Cheeses, fell in love with specialty cheese and the rest is history.

She’s said that her shop is for the “true cheese enthusiast in all of us, ” and she is completely right. There is something for everyone at My Cheese Shoppe.

With over 75 different kinds of cheese from Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Wisconsin, New York and imported from Europe, Australia and New Zealand it’s no wonder the tiny shop in downtown Puyallup has been such a huge hit with the locals and a must see for tourists.

She also sells novelty sweet items like imported raw honey with orange blossom, Croatian fig spread, date bread and walnut bread imported from Spain, dark chocolates, caramels and even toffee!

If you’re also hungry for meat she offers SEVEN different kinds of salami. Who knew seven different kinds even existed!

If your mouth is watering (as it should be) go down to the shop and see the wide selection for yourself.

The Best Western Premier Plaza is just a short drive away from My Cheese Shoppe and will be right here to welcome you once you get back from your cheese bonanza! Contact us now for the best rates guaranteed.

Tacoma is a beautiful city situated on scenic Puget Sound.  But there’s more to our city than its incredible scenic location.  If you’re staying with us for a few nights or an extended period of time, be sure to check out a few of these great museums in the area.

Children's Museum of Tacoma

1501 Pacific Avenue

The Tacoma Children’s Museum houses an extensive array of activities for children divided into five main areas: woods, water, voyager, invention and Becka’s Studio.  The museum houses interactive and hands-on exhibits designed to promote fun, learning and the wonder of childhood.  During your visit, be sure to check out the Playful Little Library, where kids can take out books free of charge that will incite their interest in life long learning.  If you’re looking to keep your kids entertained and instill in them a sense of wonder, head to the Children’s Museum of Tacoma.

LeMay -- America's Car Museum

2707 East D St

The automobile helped define American culture beginning in the mid-20th century.  Through films and television, the entire world saw images of luxurious American automobiles that seemed to signal a future of mass prosperity.  America’s Car Museum in Tacoma captures the spirit of those times with an extensive collection that documents our country’s love affair with the automobile.  The museum is a must see for visitors to Puyallup-Tacoma.

Drive in theatres might be a thing of the past, but not in Tacoma!  This summer, take a trip back in time and catch some great flicks at Tacoma’s legendary LeMay-America’s Car Museum.  Best of all, these screenings are entirely free!  On July 26, catch the all-American classic Smokey and the Bandit.  The film begins around 9pm but parking begins at 4:30pm.  Arrive early to get a good spot.
